Science Centers

A couple of weeks ago we tried something new for science: centers.
There were 5 different stations set up around the room to explore electricity.
Here are some of the things we did.

Making Circuits.

Static Electricity repels and attracts.

How a flashlight works.

Static Socks & Door Knob Shocks.

Using Static Electricity to separate salt & pepper.

Science Career Posters

Just a sampling of some of the Science Career posters made in class this week.
One of our fourth grade standards is to get kids thinking about careers that have to do with science. Here are some of our posters. We've got some great artists in our class! :)

COPIES of these posters (with no names attached) will be shared with the local Juvenile Detention Facility, to help inspire them to make better choices for their future. :)







ETA: The kids at the detention center were very inspired by our posters. They thought it was very cool that 4th graders have career aspirations when some of them had not thought of their own future. They sent some advice back: Stay in school and stay out of trouble, & make GOOD DECISIONS because jail is NO fun.
