Tweets from Room 12

Our classroom door is all Twitter-ified. Once a week each student is asked to share what they learned on an erasable sentence strip.

From Holbrook to Mars

Maybe you've heard that NASA has put a new rover on Mars called Curiosity, but
I bet you don't know one of the people that worked on it was from our hometown!
Aaron Yazzie, who graduated from Holbrook High School, helped to create this awesome piece of technology, that is now 225 million km from Earth.

Here's the first picture of Mars in color, taken by Curiosity earlier this week, it kind of looks like the landscape around here!

Here's a link to NASA's website if you are curious to learn more about this cool project.

Someone from Holbrook helped take a photo on Mars, just imagine what YOU could do in the future!

Happy Birthday Arizona!

On February 28th our school had a family night celebrating Arizona's 100th Birthday. Yes, we know her birthday was really on the 14th, but too many other exciting things were happening that week to party.

Our party for Arizona included cake (of course!) decorations, singing, & lots of fun learning games including USS Arizona Battleship & Multiplication War!

Tyson partied a little too hard. No more cake for you dude!
Check out the hat, we all made birthday hats to celebrate!
Arizona Art by Mrs. Hansen's Class.
Fun Birthday decorations in the third grade!
Check out this awesome Arizona flag Miss Benally's class made from tissue paper.
Mr. Wright had an awesome Arizona trivia game going on in his room.
You could color fractions of Arizona in Mrs. Good's room.
There were some fun Arizona themed board games made by third graders!
Multiplication War is a great way to practice those facts!

Congratulations Orin!

Orin's science project was selected to go to the regional science fair in Show Low.

Way to Go Orin! We're proud of you!
